Pelling Sightseeing
Monasteries, viewpoints and waterfalls, planned around the best light for the mountains.
Explore Pelling with Local Help
Pelling’s highlights — Pemayangtse Monastery, the Rabdentse Ruins, Sangachoeling, the Skywalk and Chenrezig statue, and the waterfalls on the road to Khecheopalri Lake — are spread across the hills around town. Tell our front desk what you would like to see and we will help arrange a local car and suggest an order that catches the clearest morning views of Kanchenjunga.
Good to Know:
- Best time: early morning for mountain views
- Half-day and full-day circuits
- Available year-round (monsoon can slow the roads)

Plan your Pelling sightseeing day by day
Most guests split West Sikkim into two easy days by car. Our front desk books a local driver for you and adjusts the plan to the weather, because the mountains are clearest early in the morning.
Day 1: monasteries, ruins and the Skywalk
- Early morning: Kanchenjunga sunrise from the resort.
- Pemayangtse Monastery, then the forest trail to the Rabdentse Ruins.
- Afternoon: Sangachoeling, the Pelling Skywalk and the Chenrezig statue.
- Evening: back for dinner at K-Kitchen & Lounge or a session at Meraki Spa.
Day 2: lakes and waterfalls
- Rimbi Falls and the village of Darap.
- Kanchenjunga Falls on the Yuksom road.
- Khecheopalri Lake, best visited quietly in the late morning.
- Optional: Singshore Bridge on the way back.
Good to know
- Indian travellers do not need a permit for Pelling; foreign nationals should check our Sikkim permit guide.
- Carry a light jacket even in summer, and comfortable shoes for the Rabdentse trail.
- Roads are slow in the hills, so allow extra time and avoid driving after dark in the monsoon.
